Photos & Twitter

Photos III & Twitter

I give up. Getting photos from the camera onto the computer has beaten me and I do no longer even care. I packed up the camera, the disk, the directions, (which are in Chinese) and sent them to my sister. If she is successful photos of my RV will finally be on the page. Technology moves so quickly I do not know how people keep up. I decided not to keep up. I have enough to read and learn. And what is Twitter and where did such a name come from?! That is a rhetorical question. I do not care. I am still lost with Face book.

I am busy studying Western and Indigenous worldviews. As an African American Culturalist I study the culture of African Americans. Doing this requires an understanding of the two worldviews, their similarities and differences. I am particularly interested in healing and the ways in which the two worldviews may work together. Indigenous healing includes the use of music. Being a musician I am reading what I can on the subject. Music in Indigenous cultures is a part of society. The Western worldview has select musicians limited to the boundaries of a stage. In the Indigenous worldview music has no boundaries.

When I completed my Masters Degree I excitedly called Mom. She said, “There is always more to learn.” Although I have earned a Ph.D. and no longer work, I continue to study and learn. Mom, as always, was right. Thanks,Mom.

I have used a half tank of propane in a week and I have no hot water. Sigh.

Propane…again

Propane, I am learning, is going to be a continuing issue. I am out. This time I need to pay attention to how long before I run out and what are the heavy users. Being hooked to the house electricity does not give the power to heat water or cook or have any heat. The small electric heat warms my little room. Using the electric heater and the propane heater will help the propane last longer as will cooking occasionally on the electric hot plate. When hooked at an RV park, this will be very useful. Propane and not having to go buy more are the issues.

I am working on where my base will be for the summer. Seattle is too big for me and the rain just will not stop. I cannot believe I lived here 15 years ago for 15 years. Although listening to the weather caster trying to say rain seven different ways is fun. Seattle is also not as friendly as when I first moved here from the East Coast 30 years ago. I love living in Washington so my base will be here, maybe in Pasco. Monthly RV fees, if one is content not to live in one of the fancy parks, are very reasonable, particularly if the RV cost is paid. I will defiantly live some place that does not rain every day.

Old Jimmy

Here is how the story is moving along.
Old Jimmy

I write words I cannot speak. I rely on pen
and paper to free the words from my mind
to let them loose into the air
a hundred different colored balloons
so I may breathe.

Gina

Gina five-year old five pound Chihuahua who recently joined my little family. I may be clinically insane. Three dogs again.  Charlie needs a playmate. At first I was not sure they would get along. Charlie was very jealous. On her first day Gina walked the perimeter of the room as a queen viewing her queendum. [...]
